As this 'beefcake' issue has taken precedence with so many of our community members, I have taken the initiative to form a beefcake committee at this point to further explore the beefcake issue in depth. The beefcake committee will oversee the man nip sub-committee as well.
The committee should present their findings and report suggestions on beefcake recommendations for the site's banner, and overall amounts of beefcake around RPHQ. I expect a report on my desk by Monday.
I've been taking looks at my writing, and working on taking steps I'll need to take before having a product that I can readily hand out to others. Though, in this process, I've learned that it can be valuable to have people around to hand work out to early. So I was looking around at places to find the various types of writing camaraderie available, but felt noticeably out of place. Funny as that is to say.
This went away until I was looking at our various sections on the site, which I frequently browse. I eventually went through all the writing samples we have, and there's quite a few in there. Not to mention, I figure there's a few of us who write that would like feedback. While we could all pitch together feedback threads, or start posting in each other's threads, that might get a little cumbersome. So I was thinking if perhaps we would be interested in a section for writing cooperation.
I figure this would be the easiest, and most straight forward system to go with for our forum. Perhaps throw in a sticky post detailing a few example types of ways that someone could volunteer to help someone's writing (as a beta reader, as a critique partner, as a proofreader, etc.) People then post in it to say: "Hello! I'm guy! I am interested in helping other writers by being a critique partner!" And such of the like.
This could likely fit nicely into the Creative Workshop section. If other people have other ideas, we could inject even more workspaces in.
Anyone else think it's a good idea?
EDIT: I'd be totes willing to write the sticky thread.
Random Fan Girling: Hi there! Nobody in particular here coming out of perpetually wall-flowering to submit some positive feedback! -- I just wanted to say that I truly love and support RPHQ. This is such a great resource and has opened my eyes to so many aspects of RP and community that I never even knew about before. Mad props to those who started it and to those who continue to work tirelessly in what I'm sure is a labour of love! Love the site, love the constant influx of new content, and looking forward to using this forEVER. I hope everyone knows about RPHQ; making it a personal goal to share the F out of this site. Thanks to everyone that makes this the RPHQ community! Universal blessings to all~
